About Elevated Vegan Eats
Hi, I am Kaylee, and welcome to Elevated Vegan Eats! The plant based recipes you will find here are inspired by all types of cuisines and flavor profiles. All the recipes can easily be adjusted for however many servings you may need in your own household!
When I am in the kitchen I try to get creative with whatever I’m making because I’ve found it brings so much joy to the kitchen as well as your plate! It feels great knowing I’m fueling my body with whole foods that are great for my overall health, too. I try to avoid overly processed foods as much I can in my cooking. Most of the recipes will be gluten free and include soy, nut and oil free options.
I’m from Tampa, Florida and although I thought about relocating at different times in my life I always compared everything to home. I couldn’t give up Florida’s sunny weather and beautiful sandy beaches. When I met my husband, we decided we’d build our life in Tampa Bay. Together, we designed and built a Key West inspired home designed to fit our lifestyle. This is where I experiment with recipes and photograph the creations.
Becoming plant-based has brought such great energy and joy to my life. I did not want to keep it to myself any longer.

I created Elevated Vegan Eats to show you that preparing vegan meals can be delicious, and you can still enjoy all the foods you love while being vegan!
I’ll admit at first understanding what it means to be a plant-based vegan (what you can or cannot eat) can be a little confusing. In the beginning, you are learning the benefits and nutritional value of specific foods, and how your body uses the different food groups for energy. This is important because you need to ensure you’re getting the nutrients your body needs to thrive for your lifestyle, but you don’t have to sacrifice taste and flavor! It doesn’t mean you have to spend hours in the kitchen either.
This is why I’ve created Elevated Vegan Eats. I want to help inspire you to elevate your vegan journey by sharing delicious, crowd-pleasing plant-based recipes that are easy to make, easily adaptable and can be made in your own kitchen!

How I became a plant-based vegan
Like many individuals, I found myself struggling with chronic fatigue and digestive issues. I wondered what type of lifestyle changes I could make to improve my overall long-term health and boost my energy. After researching how diet can impact your health, I was blown away at the information learned. Shortly after, I found myself immersed in documentaries like ‘What the Health’ and ‘The Game Changers’ and decided to slowly eliminate meat from my daily meals.
A few weeks later I found myself veganizing our favorite recipes, stocking up on whole plant-based foods and embarking on the next chapter of my life that has lead me to find a new passion creating tasty plant-based vegan recipes that I cannot wait to share with you.
I switched from a traditional meat-eating western diet to a plant-based vegan diet in August 2021.
